Using Captions

Captions are a way for your contributors to provide you with additional text-based information about their clips. Here's a step-by-step showing how they work

Step 1) When uploading, you will receive the option to add a caption to your video

Step 2) Write your caption - use example β€œThis was filmed in Chianti, Italy”

Step 3) To view the caption in the Studio, go to your Story, then Uploads and select the clip. The caption will appear at the bottom. This is also searchable.

What is worth including in captions?

  • Location - we don’t collect this data on upload so if location is important to you, ask for your contributors to include it in their captions! For example: β€œthis was filmed in Chianti in Italy”
  • Names - Seenit only collects the name of the contributor themselves. If there is anyone else featured (including pets), include these names in captions to make sure they get a credit! For example: "Moo - Chief Barketing Officer" (Seenit's office dog)
  • Detail - when shooting clips, it’s important that the project manager and the editor has all the information they need to ensure the clip is used correctly. This will also give them some more creative options on how to use the clip. For example: β€œI was having a 6 month platform review meeting with X company”
